Since then, he’s become well-studied in many other styles such as: Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bujinkan Ninjutsu, Shorin-Ryu Karate, CDT, Rince an Bhata Uisce Beatha (Irish Stick Fighting) and Jeet Kune Do.
In addition to his training, T.J. has worked for years within the realm of nightclub security as a bouncer. This “real-life” training ground has led to a focus on realism in T.J.’s training. Anything that works is used, and anything that doesn’t work is discarded.

His two favorite martial artists of all-time are: Wanderlei Silva, Bas Rutten and Tyson Griffin. The films that influenced him to explore the martial arts were: Bloodsport (1988), Kickboxer (1989) and The Karate Kid (1984).
